REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Rotor

 

Removal

  1. Remove the retaining clip and parking brake rear cable and conduit (2A635) .

    Support the rear disc brake caliper (2552) and rear disc support bracket (2B511) assembly with a wire hook or other means, so that the rear wheel brake hose (2A442) is not stretched or twisted.

  1. Remove the two bolts that attach the rear disc support bracket to the rear disc brake adapter.
  1. Remove the two retainer nuts. Remove the rear disc brake rotor (2C026) from the axle shaft (4234) .
 

Installation

  1. If rear disc brake rotor is being replaced, remove protective coating from new rear disc brake rotor with Carburetor Tune-Up Cleaner D9AZ-19579-AA or -BA or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESR-M14P9-A (ESR-M14P9-A).
  1. Install the rear disc brake rotors on the axle shaft flange. Install the two retainer nuts securely.
  1. Clean the left hand rear disc brake adapter (2C101) and attaching bolt threads. Add one drop of Threadlock and Sealer meeting specification E0AZ-19554-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G315-A5 (Type II) to each bolt and attach the rear disc support bracket assembly to the rear disc brake adapter. Tighten the bolts to 87-119 Nm (64-88 lb-ft).
  1. Mount the rear disc brake caliper assembly on the rear disc support brackets . Refer toCaliper Assembly, Installation.
