DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
Low Oil Level Warning System
This system consists of:
- Float-type low oil level sensor (6C624)
mounted to the side of engine oil pan (6675)
.
- Low oil level relay (6C625).
- Instrument cluster warning indicator.
Low Oil Level Warning indicator
The low oil level warning indicator:
- Comes on during engine starting as a bulb prove-out.
- Adequate oil level, indicator goes out in RUN.
- Inadequate oil level, indicator stays on until oil level is adequate or
ignition switch is turned off.
- After ignition switch (11572)
is turned to OFF, the indicator will not reset for
approximately five minutes. The delay allows for oil drainback.
Low Oil Level Sensor
The low oil level sensor is:
- Grounded to show low oil level.
- Ungrounded to show oil level not low.
