Control Assembly

Removal

1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301) .

2. Remove snap-in console finish panel (04567) in console panel (045A36) to expose four air conditioning control assembly retaining screws. Refer to Section 01-12.

3. Remove four screws which attach air conditioner control (19980) assembly to instrument panel (04320) .

4. Roll air conditioner control out of opening in console. Disconnect fan switch connectors and pull-pull A/C temperature cable (19988) . Disconnect vacuum hose harness connector and electrical connector from back of function selector knob (18519) . Disconnect connector for air conditioner control assembly illumination bulbs.

5. Remove air conditioner control .

Installation

1. Connect pull-pull A/C temperature cable to geared arm on air conditioner control.

2. Install electrical connector at the following locations: blower switch (19986) , air conditioner control assembly illumination bulbs and A/C damper door switch (19B888) .

3. Install vacuum hose harness connector for function selector knob .

4. Roll air conditioner control into position against instrument panel . Install four retaining screws.

5. Snap console finish panel into position.

6. Connect battery ground cable .

Illumination Bulbs

Removal and Installation

1. Remove air conditioner control as outlined.

2. From the backside of the air conditioner control , remove the illumination bulbs by twisting counterclockwise.

3. To install, reverse Removal procedures.
