REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Ignition Coil

 
 

Removal

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301) .
  1. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring connector from ignition coil (12029) and radio ignition interference capacitor (18801) .
  1. Remove ignition wires by squeezing locking tabs to release ignition coil boot retainers.
  1. Remove ignition coil retaining screws and remove ignition coil and radio ignition interference capacitor .

    5B M8 X 1.25 X 7.6 Nut (2 Req'd)
    A Tighten to 4.0-5.7 Nm (40-61 Lb-In)
    B Tighten to 20-30 Nm (15-22 Lb-Ft)
 

Installation

  1. Install ignition coil and radio ignition interference capacitor and retaining screws. Tighten retaining screws to 4.5-7.0 Nm (40-61 lb-in).
  1. Connect ignition wires. Refer to ignition wiring routing illustration. Connect engine control sensor wiring connector to ignition coil and radio ignition interference capacitor .
  1. Connect battery ground cable .
