DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
Description and Operation
The Supplemental Air Bag Restraint System is designed to provide
increased collision protection for the driver and front seat passenger IN ADDITION TO
that provided by the three point safety belt system.
- Safety belt use is necessary to obtain the best occupant
protection and to receive the full advantages of the supplemental air bag.
- FORD RECOMMENDS THE USE OF SAFETY BELT SYSTEMS FOR ALL
VEHICLE OCCUPANTS.
- Refer to Section 01-20A for information on the Safety Belt Restraint
system.
The Supplemental Air Bag Restraint System consists of two basic
subsystems:
- Driver side air bag module (043B13) and passenger side air bag module (044A74).
- Electrical system, including RH radiator primary crash front air bag sensor and bracket (14B004)
, LH radiator primary crash front air bag sensor and bracket (14B005) and air bag diagnostic monitor and bracket.
