Remove the damaged bolt from the anchor reinforcement and discard.
Install a new bolt. Refer to Specifications for part number. Tighten to
30-40 Nm (23-29 lb-ft).
Safety Belt With Anchor Plate Thread Damage
Remove the broken or stripped bolt and discard.
Drill out the internal threads in the safety belt anchor plate with a
27/64-inch drill.
Rethread the anchor plate with a 1/2-13 tap (safety belt).
Blow out the chips.
Install the attachment parts in the applicable sequence shown in Removal
and Installation. Tighten the replacement bolt to 30-40 Nm
(23-29 lb-ft). Original parts are to be replaced with the service parts
indicated in the safety belt parts replacement chart at the end of this
Section. Unless specified in the chart, use original parts.
