Door Lock Actuator, Power

Removal

1. Remove front door trim panel (23942) and watershield. Refer to Section 01-05.

2. Remove pop-rivet retaining power door lock actuator (218A42) to front door (20124) . Remove center pin using a small drift punch. Then drill out remaining portion of rivet using a drill. Be careful not to enlarge retaining hole in sheet metal.

3. Disconnect wiring at power door lock actuator .

4. Disconnect power door lock actuator from front door latch (21812) .

5. Remove power door lock actuator .

Installation

1. Connect wiring at connectors.

2. Connect power door lock actuator to front door latch .

    CAUTION: Make certain that the power door lock actuator boot is not twisted during installation. The pop-rivet must be installed with bracket base tight to the inner panel. Failure to do so may result in damage to the power door lock actuator .

3. Install power door lock actuator to front door with pop-rivet using Heavy Duty Riveter D80L-23200-A or equivalent.

4. Install watershield and front door trim panel . Refer to Section 01-05.
