Removal and Installation

When any lock cylinder must be replaced, replace all lock cylinders as a set to avoid carrying an extra key which fits only one lock. Refer to Section 11-05 for ignition switch lock cylinder (11582) replacement.

1. Remove front door trim panel (23942) . Position watershield away from the access holes. Refer to Section 01-05.

2. Remove door lock cylinder retainer (22023) .

3. Disconnect the front door latch control cylinder rod (22134) at the door lock cylinder (21985) .

4. Remove door lock cylinder from the front door (20124) .

5. Transfer lock cylinder arm to new door lock cylinder and replace the door latch rod retainer (21952) if it shows any wear or warpage.

6. To install, reverse Removal procedure.
