DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING

Inspection and Verification

  1. Verify the vehicle owner's original concern by operating the front door lock switches (14017) and luggage compartment remote control lock switch (19C542) with or without keyless entry option.
  1. Inspect to determine if any of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

    Mechanical Electrical
    • Binding latch mechanisms.
    • Binding linkage.
    • Misaligned door.
    • Misaligned luggage compartment door.
    • Loose, broken or misaligned door lock switch.
    • Loose, broken or misaligned luggage compartment release switch.
    • Open fuse or tripped circuit breaker.
    • Circuitry.
    • Battery.
    • Door lock switch.
    • Front window regulator wire.
    • Door lock actuator motor.
    • Luggage compartment release switch.
    • Luggage compartment release actuator solenoid.
    • Electronic door lock control processor.

  1. If the concern(s) remain after the inspection, determine the symptoms and proceed to the following Symptom Chart.
