Door Locks, Power

The power door lock system consists of the components used in the manual door lock system in addition to the following:

• Door lock switches (14028) in the front door trim panel (23942) .
• Power door lock actuator (218A42) inside each front door (20124) .
• Circuit wiring and circuit protection.

In the at-rest position, each terminal of the power door lock actuator is connected to ground through the driver's door lock switch . Power is supplied to the system through instrument panel fuse panel circuit breaker 12 and Circuit 517 (BK/W). The circuit breaker is hot at all times.

When the raised portion of either door lock switch (L) is pressed:

• Power flows through the door lock switch to the "lock" terminal on the power door lock actuator .
• Both front doors lock.

When the depressed portion of either door lock switch (U) is pressed:

• Power flows through the door lock switch to the "unlock" terminal on the power door lock actuator .
• Both front doors unlock.
