DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
Warning Chime Module
Safety Belt Warning
When the ignition switch (11572)
is turned to START or RUN, power is supplied to the safety belt warning chime (10D840)
and the safety belt warning indicator lamp (10C859)
.
The safety belt warning chime
:
- Is grounded by a switch in the LH front safety belt buckle end (61202)
.
- Will sound for approximately
six seconds unless the driver's front safety belt buckle end
is fastened.
Key-In-Ignition Warning
- The safety belt warning chime sounds when the driver's front door (20124)
is opened while the key is in the ignition switch
, and continues to sound until the key is removed or the front door
is closed.
- When the key is in the ignition switch
, the ignition key warning switch terminal and wire (11A128)
is closed and
ground is supplied to the safety belt warning chime
.
- When the driver's front door
is open, the courtesy lamp switch (13713)
is closed and power is supplied to the safety belt warning chime
.
Headlamps-On Warning
- The safety belt warning chime sounds when the driver's front door
is opened while the headlamp switch (11654)
is in PARK or HEAD, and continues to sound until the headlamp switch
is moved to OFF or the front door
is closed.
- When the headlamp switch
is in PARK or HEAD, power is supplied to the safety belt warning chime
.
- When the driver's front door
is open, the driver's courtesy lamp switch
is closed and power is supplied to the safety belt warning chime
.
- Whenever selected visual warnings are displayed on the electronic instrument cluster (10849)
, the instrument cluster
grounds the safety belt warning chime
for one second, causing it to emit a one-second beep
tone to attract attention to the display.
