Section 17-02: Lighting, Interior | 1994 Mustang Workshop Manual |
The illuminated entry system consists of:
Power is provided to the system through Circuit 54 (LG/Y). The system turns on the dome lamp(s) when either door handle (22404) is lifted. This closes the door interior lamp switch which provides a ground signal to the illuminating entry actuator through Circuit 465 (W/LB) from Circuit 57 (BK) through the interior lamp . The illuminating entry actuator then provides power to the interior lamp through Circuit 53 (BK/LB).
The dome lamp(s) will remain on for approximately 25 seconds then will auto matically turn off. The dome lamp(s) will also turn off when the ignition switch (11572) is turned to RUN which provides a signal to the illuminating entry actuator .
The system is activated every time the outside door handles are operated whether the front doors (20124) are locked or unlocked.
If the vehicle is equipped with the optional electronic door lock control system, the electronics for the illuminated entry system are contained in the keyless entry remote transmitter (15K601) . The system operates the same, except that it can be activated when any of the buttons on the keyless entry remote transmitter are pressed. Refer to Section 01-14B.
