Lamps, Backup

The backup lamp system consists of:

• The backup lamp switch (15520) on vehicles with a manual transmission.
• The manual lever position sensor on vehicles with an automatic transmission.
• The backup lamp bulb in the rear lamp (13404) .
• Circuit wiring and circuit protection.

Power is supplied to either the backup lamp switch or the manual lever position sensor through instrument panel fuse 1 and Circuit 298 (P/O). This fuse is hot in RUN. With the transmission in REVERSE, the switch closes and power is provided to the backup lamp bulbs through Circuit 140 (BK/PK). Ground is provided to the backup lamp bulbs through Circuit 57 (BK).
