Section 17-01: Lighting, Exterior | 1994 Mustang Workshop Manual |
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
Lamp and Switch, Fog
The fog lamps (15200)
consist of:
- Two fog lamp
assemblies.
- A fog lamp switch (15A214)
in the console.
- Circuit wiring and circuit protection.
Power to the fog lamp switch
is provided through Circuit 13 (R/BK) from the LO
terminal on the turn signal and windshield wiper switch (13K359)
. This allows the fog lamps
to only be operated with the LO beam headlamps (13008)
.
- With the fog lamp switch
on, power is supplied through Circuit 275 (Y) to the
coil side of the fog lamp relay. The coil pulls the normally open contacts
closed. This provides power from the DRL/FOG/HORNS fuse in the power distribution box and harness (14516)
in the engine compartment through Circuit 477 (LB/BK)
and the relay to Circuit 478 (T/O) to the fog lamps
. Ground is provided to the fog lamp relay
and the fog lamps
through Circuit 57 (BK).
- With the fog lamp switch
on, power is also supplied to the fog lamp ON indicator
in the fog lamp switch
. Ground is provided to this indicator through Circuit
57 (BK).
- With the parking lamp (13200)
or headlamps
on, the fog lamp switch
illumination bulb is lit. Refer to Section 13-00.
