The headlamp switch (11654)
is a three-position switch.
The positions include OFF, PARK and HEAD.
The headlamp switch
includes an integral 20-amp circuit breaker which opens
if the current through the circuit breaker exceeds its rating.
With the headlamp switch in the PARK position (first detent),
power is supplied to the front parking lamps (13200)
, the rear tail lamps, the rear side marker
lamps and the license lamp through Circuit 14 (BR). Ground is provided to these lamps (13550)
through Circuit 57 (BK).
With the headlamp switch
in the HEAD position, power is supplied to the headlamp dimmer switch (13A024)
as described under Headlamps.
The headlamp switch
also includes a dimmer rheostat to control the instrument panel (04320)
lighting intensity. Refer to Section 13-00.
The headlamp switch
also includes the dome lamp switch. Refer to Section 17-02.
If the headlamp switch
is left in either the PARK or HEAD position, and the
driver's front door (20124)
is opened, the safety belt warning chime (10D840)
will sound. Refer to Section 13-09C.
