Function Control

The function selector knob (18519) :

• Actuates a six-port vacuum selector that controls air source intake and air distribution within the system.
• Operates the blower ON/OFF switch and the A/C clutch operating circuit.
• However, the actual turning on or off of the A/C clutch (2884) is dependent on the position of the function selector knob and the A/C cyclic switch (19E561) . Both switches must be closed to energize the A/C clutch for A/C compressor (19703) operation.

A/C Temperature Control

Temperature is controlled by a pull-pull type cable A/C air temperature control door (19D842) located within the A/C evaporator core (19860). The A/C air temperature control door can be closed or opened, allowing cooled or outside air to be discharged from the outlets, depending on position of temperature selector lever.
