REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Speed Control Servo

 
 

Removal

  1. Disconnect speed control actuator (9A825) from throttle body (9E926) .
  1. Raise vehicle on hoist. Refer to Section 00-02.
  1. Remove front tire and wheel (1007) on LH side.
  1. Remove front fender splash shield (16103) . Refer to Section 01-02.
  1. Remove both speed control vacuum supply tubes (9C764) from speed control servo (9C735) assembly.
  1. Disconnect speed control servo electrical connector.
  1. Remove two screws retaining speed control servo bracket (9C736) to fender rail.
  1. Remove two nuts from speed control actuator cover at the speed control servo . Remove speed control actuator and cover. Remove rubber speed control servo boot (9F774) .
  1. Remove two nuts retaining speed control servo to speed control servo bracket .
  1. If replacing speed control servo with service stock, remove two bolt assemblies from front of speed control servo .



 

Installation

  1. Install two bolt assemblies to front of speed control servo .
  1. Install speed control servo to speed control servo bracket with two nuts. Tighten to 5-7 Nm (45-61 lb-in).
  1. Install speed control servo boot .
  1. Attach speed control actuator to servo plunger. Install cable cover to speed control actuator with two nuts. Tighten to 5-7 Nm (45-61 lb-in).
  1. Install speed control servo to fender rail with two screws.
  1. Attach white striped vacuum dump valve hose to Y-fitting on speed control servo .
  1. Attach the brown-striped speed control vacuum supply tube to speed control servo . Adjust speed control servo boot to protect speed control servo .
  1. Reconnect speed control servo electrical connector.
  1. Install front fender splash shield .
  1. Replace tire and wheel . Tighten wheel hub bolt nuts (1012) to 115-142 Nm (85-104 lb-ft).
  1. Lower vehicle.
  1. Connect speed control actuator to throttle body .
