DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY OF SUBASSEMBLIES

Intermediate Clutch Cylinder



Disassembled View

NOTE: Clutch must rotate counterclockwise when installed on drum.





 

Disassembly

  1. Remove clutch retaining ring.



  1. Remove overrunning clutch retainer and springs (7D191).



  1. Remove clutch outer race by lifting on the race while turning counterclockwise.

    Carefully lift overrunning clutch from reverse clutch drum (7D044).



 

Assembly

NOTE: For ease in assembly, the chamfer on the outer clutch race splines should face upward.





  1. Install one-way clutch (7A089) on reverse clutch drum.

    NOTE: Clutch must rotate counterclockwise when installed on reverse clutch drum.

  1. Install clutch outer race.



  1. Install overrunning clutch retainer and springs.



  1. Install clutch retaining ring.
