The camshaft position sensor (CMP sensor) (12126) is:

• A single Hall-effect magnetic switch.
• Activated by a single vane which is driven by the camshaft (6250) .

The camshaft position sensor provides:

• Camshaft position information.
• CMP signal, which is used by the powertrain control module (PCM) (12A650) for fuel synchronization.
