Inspection and Verification

 
  1. Verify the vehicle owner's original concern by removing fuel tank filler cap (9030) to duplicate the condition.
  1. Inspect to determine if any of the following mechanical concerns apply:

    Mechanical
    • Hissing sound or release of pressure as the fuel tank filler cap is removed from the fuel tank filler pipe .

  1. If the concern(s) remain after the inspection, determine the symptoms and proceed to the following Symptom Chart.
