From the valve tappets :
A full-flow oil bypass filter (6714) is externally mounted on the cylinder block (6010) and all engine oil normally passes through the oil bypass filter element. However, if the oil bypass filter element should become restricted, a spring-loaded bypass valve will open, allowing an uninterrupted flow of oil to the engine's moving parts.
Oil Pan
NOTE: When changing engine oil, both oil pan drain plugs (6730) must be removed to thoroughly drain the crankcase. One oil pan drain plug is located on the front of the oil pan and the other oil pan drain plug is located on the LH bottom side of the oil pan . Failing to remove both oil pan drain plugs when changing the engine oil can lead to an incorrect oil level reading after filling the crankcase with the specified amount of engine oil.
