Flywheel

 

Removal

  1. Remove transmission. Refer to applicable Section in Group 07.
  1. If equipped with manual transmission, remove clutch pressure plate (7563) and clutch disc (7550) as outlined in Section 08-01.
  1. Remove flywheel retaining bolts and flywheel (6375) .
  1. The engine rear plate (7007) can be removed, if necessary.
 

Installation

NOTE: If flywheel is to be replaced, check if original flywheel has balance pins or rivets installed. If so, new balance rivets (E2DZ-6A32-A) or equivalent must be installed on new flywheel in same position as on original flywheel .

  1. Coat threads of flywheel retaining bolts with Pipe Sealant with Teflon® D8AZ-19554-A or equivalent meeting Ford specifications WSK-M2G350-AZ and ESR-M18P7-A.
  1. Install engine rear plate, if removed.
  1. Position flywheel on crankshaft (6303) and install retaining bolts. Tighten retaining bolts to 73-87 Nm (54-64 lb-ft) using standard cross-tightening sequence.
  1. If equipped with manual transmission, install clutch disc and clutch pressure plate as outlined in Section 08-01.
  1. Install transmission. Refer to applicable Section in Group 07.
