REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Windshield Wiper Pivot Arm

 

Removal

NOTE: To prevent windshield glass (03100) and/or paint damage, do not pry windshield wiper pivot arm (17526) from windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft (17566) with metal or sharp tool.

  1. Turn turn signal and windshield wiper switch (13K359) ON. Allow windshield wiper motor (17508) to move windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft three or four cycles, then turn turn signal and windshield wiper switch OFF. This will place windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft in PARK position.
  1. Remove windshield wiper pivot arm and windshield wiper blade (17528) . First, apply downward pressure on windshield wiper pivot arm head, while holding windshield wiper pivot arm . Then, lift windshield wiper pivot arm to highest position and, using finger pressure only, grasp slide latch tab and slide latch out from under windshield wiper pivot arm head. Remove windshield wiper pivot arm and windshield wiper blade .



  1. To remove windshield wiper blade , press lock tab and push windshield wiper pivot arm away from windshield wiper blade .
  1. Install windshield wiper blade onto new replacement windshield wiper pivot arm .
 

Installation

NOTE: Before installing the windshield wiper pivot arm to the windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft , ensure the windshield wiper motor is in PARK and the windshield wiper blades are set to Dimension X as outlined under Adjustments.

  1. Position bottom surface of windshield wiper pivot arm parallel with top surface of cowl vent screen. Install windshield wiper pivot arm onto windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft with latch slide in unlatched (outward) position.
  1. While applying downward pressure on windshield wiper pivot arm head to ensure full seating, raise other end of windshield wiper pivot arm sufficiently to allow latch to slide under windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft to latched position.
