Windshield Wiper Mounting Arm and Pivot Shafts

Removal and Installation

1. Turn the windshield wiper motors (17508) on and when the windshield wiper blades (17528) are to full travel on the windshield glass (03100) , turn the key OFF.

2. Remove windshield wiper pivot arm (17526) and windshield wiper blade from windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft (17566) as outlined.

3. Raise hood (16612) and disconnect battery ground cable (14301) .

4. Remove cowl vent screen (018A16) .

5. Disconnect windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft from windshield wiper motor after removing clip, outlined under Windshield Wiper Motor.

6. Remove windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shafts retaining screws. Guide windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shafts from RH side of cowl chamber.

   NOTE: Before installing windshield wiper pivot arm and windshield wiper blade to windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft , ensure windshield wiper motor is in the PARK position. Set windshield wiper blade to Dimension X as outlined underAdjustments .

7. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten six windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft retaining screws to 13-17 Nm (10-12 lb-ft).
