Heated Back Window Switch and Light

The heated back window system consists of:

The heated back window switch and light assembly also contains a timer-controlled relay that turns off automatically after about 10 minutes of operation. If more than 10 minutes is needed, the system can be reactivated by momentarily pressing the heated back window switch and light . This operation can be repeated as often as necessary. The heated back window switch and light is spring-loaded to the neutral position. When the heated back window switch and light is momentarily pressed, the normally-open contacts in the relay close, supplying power to the heated back window grids, the indicator light in the heated back window switch and light and to the timer. The contacts will remain closed until the timer turns them off, the heated back window switch and light is momentarily pressed or the ignition switch (11572) is turned to the OFF position.

Power to the heated back window grids is supplied by a fuse in the power distribution box and harness (14516) . This fuse is hot at all times. Power to the heated back window switch and light is supplied by a fuse in the fuse junction panel (14A067) . This fuse is hot only with the ignition switch in the RUN position.
