Air Scoop, Quarter Panel

Removal and Installation

1. Remove quarter trim panel (31012) and watershield. Refer to Section 01-05.

2. On convertible, remove window regulator assembly. Refer to Section 01-11.

3. Remove three nuts retaining air scoop applique to quarter panel (27840) .

4. Remove air scoop applique seal, if necessary.

5. Separate air scoop applique from applique spacer screen by squeezing spacer to disengage locking tabs.

6. To remove air scoop louver, remove three rivets attaching louver to inner fender well. Remove pins from rivet using a drift pin. Drill remainder of rivets out using a drill, being careful not to enlarge the retaining holes in the sheet metal.

   NOTE: Before installing retaining nuts, make sure convertible top cable is installed over the top rear stud on the air scoop applique.

7. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten retaining nuts to 0.9-1.3 Nm (8-11 lb-in).
