Steering Linkage

Entry of water or dust into the front suspension steering ball stud dust seals (3332) will seriously affect the operation and durability of the steering gear (3504) , including the front wheel spindle connecting rods (3280) .

 CAUTION: Front suspension steering ball stud dust seals must be handled carefully to avoid damage. Use new steering gear boot clamps (3C650) when installing front suspension steering ball stud dust seals .

Inspect front suspension steering ball stud dust seals for cracks, cuts, deterioration, twisting, or distortion. Check steering gear boot clamps to make sure they are tight. Replace front suspension steering ball stud dust seals and/or steering gear boot clamps as required.
