Fuel Injected Engines

Vehicles equipped with a multiport fuel injected (MFI) engine contain the following features:

• An electric fuel pump (9350) provides high-pressure fuel to the injectors. The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank (9002).
• The supply line which delivers fuel from the fuel tank to the engine is under pressure during vehicle operation.
• All fuel injection systems have a return line which returns excess fuel from the engine to the fuel tank .
• When fuel injection engines are turned off, the fuel in the fuel supply lines remains pressurized for a long time to provide quick start-ups.
