REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Exhaust Outlet Pipe Frame Bracket

 

Removal and Installation

  1. Raise vehicle on hoist. Refer to Section 00-02.
  1. Support exhaust system with a suitable jackstand.
  1. Depending on application, remove exhaust hanger insulators (5F262) from outlet pipe or pipes. Refer to appropriate illustration.
  1. Remove exhaust outlet pipe frame bracket retaining bolt and exhaust outlet pipe frame bracket (5260) . Refer to appropriate illustration.

    NOTE: For ease of assembly, lubricate exhaust hanger insulators with Silicone Lubricant D7AZ-19553-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESR-M13P4A prior to installation of outlet pipe or pipes.

  1. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten exhaust outlet pipe frame bracket retaining bolt to 14.8-20.2 Nm (11-15 lb-ft).

D Tighten to 34-46 Nm (25-34 Lb-Ft)
