Pipe Bracket

Removal and Installation

1. Raise vehicle on hoist. Refer to Section 00-02.

2. Support exhaust system with a suitable jackstand.

3. Depending on application, remove exhaust hanger insulators (5F262) from muffler (5230) or mufflers . Refer to appropriate illustration.

4. Remove muffler pipe bracket retaining bolts and muffler pipe bracket (5277) . Refer to appropriate illustration.

   NOTE: For ease of assembly, lubricate exhaust hanger insulators with Silicone Lubricant D7AZ-19553-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESR-M13P4A prior to installation of mufflers .

5. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten muffler pipe bracket retaining bolts to 14.8-20.2 Nm (11-15 lb-ft).
