Pressure Plate and Cover

 CAUTION: Do not use cleaners with petroleum base, and do not immerse the clutch pressure plate (7563) in the solvent.

Inspect surface of clutch pressure plate for burn marks, scores, ridges and warpage. Generally, clutch pressure plate resurfacing is not recommended, but minor burn marks or scores can be removed with a crocus pad. If it is badly heat-checked, warped or deeply scored, replace clutch pressure plate assembly. Clean clutch pressure plate and flywheel (6375) surfaces with a suitable solvent, such as alcohol, to be sure surfaces are free from any oil film.
