REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Pilot Bearing

Removal

  1. Remove transmission, clutch pressure plate (7563) and clutch disc (7550) .
  1. Pull the input shaft bushing (7120) from the crankshaft (6303) using Impact Slide Hammer T50T-100-A or Impact Slide Hammer T59L-100-B and Puller Attachment T58L-101-B.



 

Installation

  1. Coat the input shaft bushing bore in the crankshaft with a small quantity of Premium Long Life Grease XG-1-C or XG-1-K or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M1C75-B. Avoid using too much lubricant as it may be thrown on the clutch disc when the clutch revolves.

    NOTE: Care must be taken not to damage input shaft bushing during transmission installation while transmission input shaft (7017) is being inserted in input shaft bushing .

  1. Using Pilot Bearing Installer T81P-7120-B, carefully tap with a hammer to drive the input shaft bushing squarely into the bore until the input shaft bushing is located in the crankshaft . Be sure that the needle bearing is not damaged or repositioned in the adapter collar.
