DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING
Inspection and Verification
Verify the vehicle owner's original concern by operating the shift interlock system to duplicate the concern.
Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:
Mechanical
Electrical
Shift control linkage binding.
Damaged interlock cable.
Damaged shift cable.
Circuitry open/shorted.
Blown fuse.
Damaged brake on/off switch.
Damaged shift lock actuator.
Damaged powertrain control module.
Burned-out bulb.
If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and proceed to the following Symptom Chart.
