DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY OF SUBASSEMBLIES

Shift Control Housing

 

Disassembly

  1. Remove four bolts (7A443) retaining shift control selector lever and housing (7210) .
  1. Lift shift control selector lever and housing from extension housing (7A039) .
  1. Remove gear shift lower boot clamp (7C108) and lower gearshift lever boot (7277) .
  1. Remove gearshift offset lever (7F018) , pin and shift control selector lever and housing .
 

Assembly

NOTE: Apply a light coating of Multi-Purpose Grease D0AZ-199584-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specifications ESR-M1C159-A and ESB-M1C93-A to the shift lever ball and shift control selector lever and housing socket prior to assembly.

  1. Install shift lever in shift control selector lever and housing . Be sure that offset side of shift control selector lever and housing is located on the RH side of vehicle.
  1. Install gearshift offset lever and pin in extension housing .
  1. Install shift control selector lever and housing assembly onto extension housing .
  1. Insert four bolts to retain shift control selector lever and housing assembly to extension housing .
  1. Install lower gearshift lever boot and gear shift lower boot clamp .
