Disassembly

  1. Remove retaining bolt and shift solenoid bracket.
  1. Remove shift solenoid (7G484) assembly and torque converter clutch solenoid (TCC solenoid) (7G136) by pulling straight up.



  1. Turn main control valve body (7A100) over and remove 11 bolts retaining reinforcement and separator plates.



  1. Remove separator plate and gaskets. Discard gaskets.



  1. Note location and remove coasting booster valve shuttle balls (7E195). Remove filter.



  1. Remove converter drain back valve.
  1. Remove four valve body cover plate bolts and two guide pin bolts.



  1. Remove main control cover (7G004).



 

Assembly

  1. Install main control cover.
  1. Install two guide pin bolts and four valve body cover retaining bolts. Tighten guide pin bolts to 22-26 Nm (190-230 lb-in) and valve body cover retaining bolts to 11-15 Nm (100-130 lb-in) in sequence shown.



  1. Install coasting booster valve shuttle balls, converter drain back valve and filter.



  1. Install separator plate and new gaskets.
  1. Install reinforcement plates. Tighten retaining bolts to 11-15 Nm (100-130 lb-in).



  1. Inspect O-rings on solenoids for damage. Install shift solenoid assembly and torque converter clutch solenoid.



  1. Install bracket and retaining bolt. Tighten to 9-11 Nm (80-100 lb-in).
