REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Hydraulic Control Unit

 

Removal

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301) .
  1. Clear a path to the hydraulic control unit, located at the bottom of the RH side of the radiator (8005) in the engine compartment.
  1. Disconnect two wiring harnesses from hydraulic control unit.
  1. Disconnect five brake tubes.
  1. Remove hydraulic control unit ground wire.
  1. Remove four bolts.
  1. Remove hydraulic control unit from vehicle.
  1. Remove three nuts and mounting bracket from hydraulic control unit.

A Tighten to 3.4-4.8 Nm (30-42.4 Lb-In)
B Tighten to 10-20 Nm (7.3-14 Lb-Ft)
C Tighten to 10-14 Nm (7.3-10.3 Lb-Ft)
D Tighten to 18-26 Nm (13.2-19 Lb-Ft)
 

Installation

  1. Install three nuts and mounting bracket on hydraulic control unit. Tighten nuts to 10-20 Nm (7.3-14 lb-ft).
  1. Install hydraulic control unit and four bolts. Tighten bottom bolts to 10-14 Nm (7.3-10.3 lb-ft). Tighten remaining bolts to 18-26 Nm (13.2-19 lb-ft).
  1. Install hydraulic control unit ground wire and screw. Tighten to 3.4-4.8 Nm (30-42.4 lb-in).
  1. Connect five brake tubes to hydraulic control unit.
  1. Connect two wiring harnesses.
  1. Connect battery ground cable .
  1. Bleed brake system as outlined. Refer to Section 06-06.
