REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Brake Master Cylinder

 

Removal

  1. Remove the brake tubes from the primary and secondary outlet ports of the brake master cylinder (2140) and brake pressure control valve (2B091) .
  1. Remove two nuts retaining brake master cylinder to the power brake booster (2005) assembly.
  1. Disconnect connector.
  1. Slide brake master cylinder forward and upward from vehicle.
 

Installation

  1. Position the brake master cylinder assembly over booster push rod and onto two studs on the power brake booster assembly.
  1. Install the retaining nuts and tighten to specification.
  1. Install the front and rear brake tubes to the brake master cylinder and brake pressure control valve outlet ports.
  1. Connect anti-lock reservoir cap (2C251) .
  1. Fill the brake master cylinder . Use Heavy-Duty Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542-AA or BA or DOT-3 equivalent meeting Ford Specification ESA-M6C25-A. Fill to MAX line on side of brake master cylinder reservoir (2K478) .
  1. Bleed brake system as outlined.
  1. Operate the brakes several times, then check for external hydraulic leaks.
