DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

Driveshaft with Single Cardan U-Joint

NOTE: All driveshaft assemblies are balanced; therefore, if the vehicle is to be undercoated, cover the driveshaft and universal joints to prevent application of any undercoating material.

Driveshaft (4602) assembly consists of:

Tube assembly.
Two single cardan universal joints.
Driveshaft slip yoke (4841).
Rear axle universal joint flange (4851).

Driveshaft slip yoke has two basic functions:

Permits movement of driveshaft as suspension moves up and down.
Provides smooth performance during vehicle operation.
