REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Axle Bumper—Pinion Noise Center

 

5.0L Engine

Removal

  1. Raise vehicle on a hoist. Refer to Section 00-02.
  1. Remove three bracket retaining bolts.
  1. Remove rear axle bumper (4730) and rear axle bumper bracket (4731) assembly.
  1. Remove bumper-to-bracket retaining nut. Remove rear axle bumper from rear axle bumper bracket .
 

Installation

  1. Position rear axle bumper to rear axle bumper bracket and install retaining nut. Tighten to 16-27 Nm (12-20 lb-ft).
  1. Align rear axle bumper and rear axle bumper bracket assembly with J-nuts in floorpan.
  1. Install three bracket retaining bolts. Tighten to 10-16 Nm (8-11 lb-ft).
  1. Lower vehicle.
