Stabilizer Bar

Removal

1. Raise vehicle on hoist. Refer to Section 00-02.

2. Remove and discard four bolts and stamped nuts attaching rear stabilizer bar (5A772) to brackets in rear suspension lower arm (5A649) .

3. Remove rear stabilizer bar from vehicle.

Installation

1. Install four new stamped nuts on the rear stabilizer bar over each retaining hole.

2. Align four holes in rear stabilizer bar with holes in brackets in lower arms.

3. Install four new bolts. Tighten bolts to 40-54 Nm (29-37 lb-ft).

4. Visually inspect installation to ensure adequate clearance between rear stabilizer bar and rear suspension lower arm .

   NOTE: Ensure rear stabilizer bar is not installed upside down. A color code is provided on rear stabilizer bar (passenger side only) as an aid for proper positioning.

5. Lower vehicle.
