Hub and Rotor, Wheel Grease Seal, Bearing Cones and Cups

Removal

1. Raise vehicle on hoist. Refer to Section 00-02.

2. Remove wheel (1007) and tire assembly.

3. Remove front hub cap grease seal (1N135) from wheel hub (1104) and discard.

4. Remove two bolts from front disc brake caliper (2B120) assembly.

    CAUTION: Do not let front disc brake caliper assembly hang by the front brake hose (2078) .

5. Remove front disc brake caliper assembly and suspend by wire.

6. Remove front disc brake rotor (1125) . Remove factory push on nuts, if installed.

7. Remove front axle wheel hub retainer (3B477) and discard.

8. Remove wheel hub and bearing. If assembly cannot be removed by hand, use Front Hub Remover/Replacer T81P-1104-C.
   
   
   
   

Installation

1. Install wheel hub and bearing.

2. Install front axle wheel hub retainer and tighten to 300-400 Nm (221-295 lb-ft).
   
   
   
   

3. Install front disc brake rotor and push on nuts.

4. Install new front hub cap grease seal cap. Use appropriate tool so as not to damage or distort front hub cap grease seal .

5. Position front disc brake caliper assembly on spindle.

6. Install brake caliper retaining bolts. Tighten to 100-130 Nm (73.7-95.8 lb-ft).

7. Install wheel and tire assembly. Tighten wheel hub bolt nut (1012) to 115-142 Nm (85-105 lb-ft).

8. Lower vehicle.
