PCV Valve

 

3.8L SFI Engine

Removal and Installation

  1. Disconnect crankcase ventilation tube (6758) from positive crankcase ventilation valve (PCV valve) (6A666).
  1. Remove positive crankcase ventilation valve from PCV valve grommet (14603).
  1. Inspect PCV valve grommet for deterioration and replace if necessary.
  1. To install, reverse Removal procedure.
 

5.0L SFI Engine

Removal and Installation

  1. Pull the positive crankcase ventilation valve out of the crankcase ventilation grommet (6A892) at rear of lower intake manifold (9424).
  1. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose (6853) from the positive crankcase ventilation valve.
  1. Remove the crankcase ventilation grommet at rear of lower intake manifold.
  1. Remove the crankcase vent oil separator element (6A631) from the lower intake manifold.
 

Installation

  1. Install new crankcase vent oil separator element into the lower intake manifold.
  1. Reinstall crankcase ventilation grommet into the lower intake manifold.
  1. Insert the positive crankcase ventilation valve into the crankcase ventilation grommet at rear of lower intake manifold.
  1. Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to the positive crankcase ventilation valve.
  1. Start the engine and check for leaks.
