REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Support, Rear Engine

The rear engine support (6A023) is located at the transmission extension housing.

 CAUTION: Whenever self-locking mounting bolts and nuts are removed, they must be replaced with new self-locking bolts and nuts.

 

Removal

  1. Raise vehicle on hoist. Refer to Section 00-02.
  1. Support the transmission with a jack and wood block. Remove the two nuts attaching the rear engine support insulator (6068) to rear engine support .
  1. Remove the two bolts and nuts attaching the crossmember to the body brackets and remove the crossmember by raising the transmission slightly with the jack.
 

Installation

  1. Install the rear engine support mounting bracket (6030) to the transmission support members (7K065) and install the through bolts. Tighten the retaining nuts to 46-64 Nm (34-47 lb-ft).
  1. Lower the transmission. Install the rear engine support insulator-to-rear engine support retaining nuts. Tighten to 34-48 Nm (25-34 lb-ft).
  1. Lower vehicle.
