REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Support Insulator, Rear Engine

 

3.8L Engine

Removal

  1. Remove the rear engine support mounting bracket (6030) as outlined.
  1. Remove the two bolts retaining the rear engine support insulator (6068) to the extension housing (7A039) and remove the rear engine support insulator . On vehicles equipped with automatic transmission, remove the rear engine support retainer (6054) .
 

Installation

  1. Position the rear engine support insulator on the extension housing . Install the rear engine support retainer (automatic transmission vehicles). Install the two retaining bolts and tighten to 59-81 Nm (44-60 lb-ft).
  1. Install the rear engine support mounting bracket as outlined.

B Tighten to 59-81 Nm (44-60 Lb-Ft)
C Tighten to 34-46 Nm (25-34 Lb-Ft)
 

5.0L Engine

Removal

  1. Remove the rear engine support mounting bracket as outlined.
  1. Remove the two bolts attaching the rear engine support insulator to the transmission or rear engine support mounting bracket (6A026) , depending on application. Remove the rear engine support insulator and rear engine support retainer (if equipped). Refer to illustration.
 

Installation

  1. Position the rear engine support insulator and rear engine support retainer (if so equipped) on the transmission or rear engine support mounting bracket , depending on application. Install the two attaching bolts. Tighten to 59-81 Nm (44-60 lb-ft).
  1. Install the rear engine support mounting bracket as outlined.
