Mirror, Inside

NOTE: These breakaway mounts are designed to detach from the inside rear view mirror bracket (17698) during air bag deployment. Excessive force and/or excessive up, down, side-to-side adjustment can cause inside rear view mirror (17700) to detach from windshield glass (03100) .

Removal

1. Disconnect wiring assembly.

2. Grasp mirror firmly:
   1. Use one hand to support one end of the inside rear view mirror against the windshield glass .
   2. Use the other hand to pull inside rear view mirror away from the windshield glass with a sideways movement.

Installation

Sedan

1. Center bottom of inside rear view mirror mount against windshield glass at top of inside rear view mirror bracket .

2. Slide mount partially onto inside rear view mirror bracket keeping mount parallel to windshield glass .

3. Using inside rear view mirror installation tool, complete installation onto inside rear view mirror bracket .
   
   
   
   

Convertible

1. Center top of inside rear view mirror mount against windshield glass at bottom of inside rear view mirror bracket .

2. Slide mount upward onto inside rear view mirror bracket keeping mount parallel to windshield glass .

3. As mount starts to grip inside rear view mirror bracket , apply a force against inside rear view mirror bracket while maintaining an upward motion.
