Mirror, Power

Removal

1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301) .

2. Remove front door trim panel (23942) . Refer to Section 01-05.

3. Carefully pry outside rear view mirror inside mounting hole cover (17K709) off.

4. Disconnect mirror assembly wiring connector and remove necessary wiring guides.

5. Remove the three retaining nuts. Remove the outside rear view mirror (17682) while guiding the wiring and connector through the hole in the front door (20124).

6. Remove screw in window trim filler. Remove door window opening front outer filler (214A62) assembly if necessary.

Installation

1. Install door window opening front outer filler . Tighten screw to 1.5-2.0 Nm (13-17 lb-in).

2. Install the outside rear view mirror assembly by routing the connector and wiring through the hole in the distributor to spark plug wire (12286) and attach with three retaining nuts. Tighten retaining nuts to 5.9-8.1 Nm (53-71 lb-in).

3. Connect mirror wiring connector and install wiring guides.

4. Replace outside rear view mirror inside mounting hole cover and install one screw.

5. Replace front door trim panel . Refer to Section 01-05.

6. Connect battery ground cable .

Glass, Outside Mirror

Removal

1. Push inner edge of outside rear view mirror glass into housing.

2. Grip outer edge of outside rear view mirror glass and pull out until glass snaps out of mirror assembly.

Installation

1. Line up locking tabs of the outside rear view mirror glass to the housing as shown.

2. Firmly push glass into place with the palm of the hand until it locks in.
   
   
   
   

Mirror Switch

Removal and Installation

1. Remove window regulator switch plate retaining screw and rotate window regulator switch plate (14524) up and out of front door trim panel .

2. Disconnect wiring connector from the outside rear view mirror control (17B676) .

3. Using a screwdriver, press four locking tabs (two on each side) and remove outside rear view mirror control from window regulator switch plate .

Mirror Motor

Removal

1. Remove outside rear view mirror glass (17K707) as outlined.

2. Remove outside rear view mirror motor retaining screws and remove outside rear view mirror motor (17D696) .

Installation

1. Connect outside rear view mirror motor connector. Position outside rear view mirror motor in outside rear view mirror and install retaining screws.

2. Install outside rear view mirror glass as outlined.
