Body Sealer Types and Application

Liquid Butyl Sealer

Liquid Butyl Sealer C9AZ-19554-B (ESB-M4G162-A) does not run, is fast drying, and remains semi-elastic.

• The sealer can be used for seam sealing in such areas as the floorpan, wheelhouse, dash panel, door openings and drip rails.
• It can also be used to seal outside moulding clip holes, and for windshield and rear window leak repair.

Caulking Cord

Caulking cord D6AZ-19560-A (ESB-M4G32-A) is commonly known as permagum.

• It is used on spot weld holes, around moulding clips or between two surfaces not properly sealed by a gasket.
• Apply with a putty knife.

Weatherstrip Adhesive

Weatherstrip Adhesive E8AZ-19552-A (ESB-M2G14-A) material or equivalent, is designed to hold weatherstripping on doors, bodies, luggage compartment doors, cowl ventilators and the surrounding metal.

Clean all grease, dirt and old sealer from the surfaces to be cemented and apply a medium coat of cement to both surfaces. Immediately press both surfaces together.

Silicone Lubricant

NOTE: Door weatherstrips are coated to reduce wear and friction and do not need to be recoated. Recoating may stain glass or paint.

Silicone Lubricant C0AZ-19553-AA (Jelly) (ESR-M13P4-A) or equivalent, is to be used on the door and window weatherstrips.
