REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Refrigerant Lines

  1. Discharge the refrigerant from the A/C system at the low-pressure service access gauge port valve located on the suction line following the recommended service procedures. Observe all safety precautions. Refer to Section 12-00.
  1. Disconnect and remove the refrigerant line using a wrench on each side of each fitting or the special tool required for spring lock couplings at the condenser.
  1. Route the new refrigerant line with the protective caps installed as shown in the following two illustrations.

  1. Connect condenser lines to spring lock couplings.
  1. Connect all other refrigerant lines into the system using new O-rings lubricated with clean refrigerant oil. Use two wrenches when tightening the fittings.
  1. Leak test, evacuate and charge the refrigerant system following the recommended procedures and safety precautions.
