Outside-Recirc Door and/or Shaft

Removal and Installation

1. Remove evaporator case as outlined.

2. Disconnect vacuum hose at vacuum motor.

3. Remove six screws which attach outside-recirc air duct to evaporator case. Then remove duct.

4. Disconnect vacuum motor (two nuts which attach motor to case and one spring nut which attaches motor driveshaft to door actuating arm).

5. Working through door grid, remove one screw which secures door to center of shaft.

6. Reach inside duct and pull door away from three tension-type retainers on shaft. Remove door from duct.

7. Move shaft as necessary to ease it out of duct through shaft bearing hole in duct.

8. To install shaft and door, reverse Removal procedure.
