REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

Safety Belt Retractor and Harness Assembly

Tools Required:

Seat Belt Bolt Bit T77L-2100-A should be used for removal and installation of the safety belt bolts on all safety belt assemblies.

 

Removal

  1. Remove safety belt anchor-to-sill bolt and rubber washer.
  1. Slip finger behind D-ring cover and push bottom of cover toward center of vehicle to dislodge. Lift up to remove cover and remove retaining bolt.
  1. Remove rear seat lower cushion and rear seat back cushions. Refer to Section 01-10A.
  1. Remove quarter panel and unthread safety belt from slot in panel. Refer to Group 01 for quarter panel removal.
  1. Remove bezel from plunger and twist plunger 90 degrees to unlock.
  1. Remove retractor retaining bolt and remove outboard bolt assembly.
  1. Remove anchor bolt from inboard (buckle end) belt assembly. (On LH side, disconnect buzzer wire.) Remove the inboard belt assembly.
 

Installation

  1. Reverse the removal procedure. Position the safety belt components as shown.
  1. Tighten retaining bolts to 30-40 Nm (23-29 lb-ft). Cycle the system several times to ensure proper operation of retractor. Ensure belt is not twisted.
